From Caticlan port ride a bus going to San Jose Antique and drop off to the town of Tibiao, ride a habal habal going to Brgy. Turo. There you can trek going to the Bugtong Bato Falls inn, they have a Kawa Hot bath there on the top of the mountain where you can really feel the cool air. Kawa is from the used sugar mill factory which happened to be there cooking tool.
Going to the Bugtong Bato falls is a bit slippery when it’s rainy but the road is okay when it’s not raining (but when I went there it was kinda raining so it was a bit hard to trek). It’s a 20-30 minutes trek, but never mind it because along the way you can passed by a mini rice terraces, and you can see some carabaos.
Bugtong Bato Falls is a seven tiered waterfalls, but in my case I only reached the first one because I have asthma so it’s hard for me to go trekking in peaked mountains. Beside the first waterfalls, is the Bugtong Bato Falls Inn, where you can rest or have an overnight stay .
Try how hot the famous kawa hot bath is. It will costs you 250php each person for 30 minutes experience but believe me it’s worth the long walk and can really ease some stress.
The preparation for the hot bath may take 30-45mins; the ingredients are different kinds of flowers, some herbal plants or leaves and of course the water. So there you go, you’re ready to be cooked (just kidding!)
Again, hope you could visit and try this one of a kind experience in the province of Antique.
